Solu's genome analysis platform just got a major update!
Up to 85% faster time to results 🤯
We thought our platform was already quite brisk, but after weeks of hard work, we managed to make it faster. Way faster. By optimizing everything from how fast our containers start, scaling up our cloud machinery, and running analyses in parallel, we’re now able to do the species identification and MLST as fast as in 25 seconds from a Fasta upload. Hyperspeed currently works for MLST and species identification, and we can’t wait to extend it for other analyses!
Genome annotation with Bakta ✨
If we could only use one bioIT tool, it would be Bakta.
Bakta, developed by Dr. Oliver Schwengers, is a relatively new pipeline for full genome annotation. It looks at coding DNA, antimicrobial resistance genes, virulence genes, mobile DNA and more. Bakta is so good that Torsten Seemann, the creator of Prokka, has called it a worthy successor.
Happy hunting!
For now, all of the thousands of annotated features are presented in one table. You can easily filter and sort it by exporting the sample into Excel. Let us know what kind of filters would be interesting to you, and we can make it happen in the platform!
Citation guide for researchers
We’ve added a link to Solu’s Citation guide. This includes a description of the tools and databases used, and other information on citing Solu. In the workspace menu, click on Citation, or view it directly here.
